Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged

Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged!

TMZ verified via sources on Monday morning that the longtime couple is engaged, following Zendaya's appearance at Sunday night's Golden Globes with a diamond sparkler on her ring finger. While she often turns attention on red carpets, her choice of accessory sparked rumors within minutes of her arrival outside The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Fans and fashion insiders noticed that the bling was not Bulgari, which she is contractually bound to wear as a longstanding ambassador for the expensive brand.

Then, during the Globes, Max's Instagram account, which hosts her series Euphoria, for which she has won back-to-back Emmy Awards, appeared to confirm the news with a post including the ring and a clip from the program. "I have never, ever been happier," the caption read. Reps for both performers have declined to comment to Hollywood Above, which is understandable given Holland and Zendaya's global celebrity.

TMZ reports that the proposal was likewise low-key and discreet. According to sources, Holland proposed between the Christmas and New Year's holidays by "dropping to one knee in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya's family homes in the United States." It was "just a sweet moment" between the couple and their former Spider-Man co-stars, according to TMZ. They apparently met and fell in love while portraying Peter Parker and MJ in the popular superhero franchise.

People reported shortly afterward that Holland had been "keen" to propose for some time. "He has always been passionate over her. He had always known she was the one. They have something extremely unique," a source told People, adding that they are not in a hurry to organize a ceremony. "They'll just enjoy things for now and won't rush through a wedding. "They are both preoccupied with work projects."

Holland and Zendaya have recently joined Christopher Nolan's next epic The Odyssey, which also stars Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong'o. Universal has set a 2026 release date for the star-studded movie.

Holland discussed their romance and red carpet performances in a recent cover story for Men's Health. The Marvel star claimed he doesn't usually accompany her on red carpets for movies or awards ceremonies where she's nominated "because it's not my moment, it's her moment, and if we go together, it's about us."

Holland detailed in a June 2023 cover story for THR why they choose to keep their love hidden. "We are highly protective of our connection and want to keep it as holy as possible. We don't believe we owe it to anyone; it's our passion, and it has nothing to do with our professions."
