"We're overjoyed to finally announce that we're engaged. This is such a great time in our life, as we say goodbye to one chapter and welcome the next one. We're appreciative for the love and support, and though we're partial to having private times, we're delighted to share this check-in with our world 🖤." Buchanan and Mouser shared a combined Instagram post.
The couple initially made their relationship public at the Netflix series finale event, when they shared a kiss on the red carpet and stood with their arms around each other. They also sparked engagement rumors after posing for a photo showing off their rings for the evening.
Both performers dressed to the nines for the occasion, with the He's All That actor wearing a traditional suit over a lighter-colored shirt and Mouser wearing a dazzling minidress. His dark gray tie seemed to fit the actress' attire wonderfully.
At Wednesday's event, Buchanan said that Mouser is "a hundred percent" his go-to confidant among the Cobra Kai cast.
"But, to be honest, literally everybody," he said. "There isn't a single individual with whom we don't hang out and have fun, and we honestly believe that we will be in each other's lives forever. I'm not sure how to express it."
"It's just really crazy, weird, cool family connection that we've built over the past seven and a half years, and none of us are ever not going to be in each other's lives," he added.
Buchanan portrays Robby Keene, while Mouser plays Sam LaRusso in Cobra Kai, which premiered on YouTube in 2018 before moving to Netflix in 2020. While the couple has spent several years on screen together, the show's creators, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, have made public that season 6 of Cobra Kai will be the final season.
In a recent interview, the Designated Survivor star revealed that the cast's final days on set were "always tear-filled." He also admitted to "very ugly crying" at the conclusion of the day.
"I'd woken up about three hours before I was supposed to be on set and laid in bed and was staring at the ceiling, and as soon as I got up to get ready, I just started crying and then had to pull it together," he recalled. "I was like, 'Nope, nope. Got to hold it together until the end of the day.'"
Buchanan was previously linked to Lizze Broadway, a Gen V actress.
