Full list of Oscars winners: Anora wins Best Picture at the 2025 Academy Awards, leading with five Oscars

At the 2025 Academy Awards, Anora claimed the prestigious title of Best Picture, marking a standout moment of the evening. The film emerged as the top winner, securing five Oscars in total.

The star of Anora, Mikey Madison, was awarded Best Actress, while director Sean Baker celebrated a remarkable achievement, taking home three Oscars for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.

In the acting categories, Adrien Brody was honored with the Best Actor award for his performance in The Brutalist. Kieran Culkin triumphed as Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldaña made history as the Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Pérez, becoming the first American of Dominican descent to win an Academy Award.

Conclave took home the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, with Peter Straughan accepting the honor. Paul Tazewell also made history by becoming the first Black man to win the Best Costume Design Oscar for his work on Wicked, which also claimed the Best Production Design award.

Other notable films that took home multiple awards included The Brutalist, which won Best Cinematography and Best Original Score alongside Best Actor for Brody. Dune: Part Two was awarded Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, and Emilia Pérez secured Best Original Song for the hit "El Mal." The Substance took home the award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

The 97th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and broadcast live on ABC and Hulu, were hosted by Conan O’Brien. Despite some initial glitches with the streaming platform, the ceremony proceeded with 23 categories of awards. A tribute was paid to the victims and heroes of the recent Los Angeles wildfires during the show.

The ceremony began with an electrifying performance by Wicked’s Oscar-nominated stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Additionally, music icons Doja Cat, Lisa from Blackpink, and Raye honored the legendary songs of the James Bond films. A tribute to the late Quincy Jones was led by Queen Latifah, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah Winfrey. The show also featured a special performance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
